Enrollee Rights and Confidentiality

More than 71,000 people completed the World Trade Center Health Registry’s initial enrollment interview in 2003 or 2004 and are considered Registry enrollees. All enrollees have specific rights and protections.

Door-to-Door Outreach Policy

The Registry will at times make personal home visits to enrollees. These home visits will be conducted by Registry staff to help enrollees complete a health survey, to provide information on health care services, or to inform enrollees about a 9/11-related research study. The Registry will always contact enrollees ahead of time, tell you the reason for the visit, and give you the opportunity to refuse. If you do not want our staff to ever visit you at home, contact us at (866) 692-9827 or wtchr@health.nyc.gov.
