Mayor Adams Announces City Hall, Municipal Building to be lit Teal to Mark end of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

September 30, 2022

NEW YORK – New York City Mayor Eric Adams today announced that both City Hall and the David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building will be lit teal tonight to raise awareness about ovarian cancer and to mark the end of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

“This devastating disease takes the life of thousands each year, and disproportionately affects Black women, which is why we must promote greater equity in accessing health care in our city and remind women to get tested early for ovarian cancer,” said Mayor Adams. “Education, research, and speaking with friends, family, and medical experts can save lives. We must continue to share all the information possible and raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of this disease, while we continue to research a cure.”
