Mayor Eric Adams: Thank you so much, and it is unbelievable. The rain never stops this community, this community forges ahead no matter what. And we want to thank you. This community means so much to New York. And I recall a few years ago, Commissioner Castro and I went to Puebla and really saw his hometown and the love and appreciation that they displayed and showed us.
When you look at the civil servants of the city, our teachers, our firefighters, our police officers, and what they represent, and how this community has grown at such a level, and you're dedicated to the commitment of this city, you believe in family, you believe in faith, you believe in public safety, you believe in small businesses, you're entrepreneurs.
To all of the representatives and the dignitaries that are here, this is a proud community. We cannot thank you enough. We owe this community a debt of gratitude to your commitment and dedication to this great City of New York.
New York is the Puebla of America, one of the largest populations that are here in the City of New York. So, raising the flag today is representative [of] how you have raised this city to the level that it deserves. Thank you so much. Viva Mexico.
