Gouverneur Health, a member of New York City’s Health and Hospital’s Corporation, has been serving the healthcare needs of New Yorkers since 1885. This year’s Gala is noteworthy because it coincides with the completion of Gouverneur’s $250 Major Modernization program. “For more than a century Gouverneur Healthcare Services has taken care of the ever-changing, diverse population of New York City's Lower East Side,” said Gouverneur Executive Director Martha A. Sullivan, DSW. “The new design and expansion, supported with state-of-the-art technology, enables us to render even better care with a focus on safety, comfort and quality.”

The Modernization would not have been possible without the community support demonstrated at the annual Gala events. “The annual Gala events provide an opportunity to thank the community for their support and continue to raise funds that are urgently needed for our efforts to improve community health” said Executive Director Martha A. Sullivan.

The Gouverneur Health Gala Fundraising Committee will formally announce its 2014 Fundraising Gala honorees at an August 28th press conference. “The honorees have distinguished themselves through their public service and advocacy for ensuring that New Yorkers have access to high quality healthcare services regardless of ability to pay” said Gala Committee Chair Lily Fan. “Their efforts have not only saved lives, but allowed New Yorkers to maintain their health and live productive lives.”

The honorees include:
