The Janitorial Track of the NYCHA Resident Training Academy (NRTA) trains NYCHA residents to work as NYCHA Housing Caretakers who maintain the grounds, buildings, and public spaces of NYCHA developments.
This four-week training program includes basic literacy, maintenance skills, job readiness, and soft skills for succeeding in the workplace. After successful completion, graduates receive job placement assistance.

Selection into the program is based on successful completion of all steps in the application process and meeting the training partner's applicant criteria.
Training hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
