Overview

Employers can hire “Made in NY” Post Production Training Program participants for entry-level roles in the post-production industry. Wage reimbursements are available to qualified employers.

The program is a partnership between the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, NYC Department of Small Business Services, and Brooklyn Workforce Innovations.

What benefits are there for my company to hire through this service?

Qualified New York City employers that take part in the work-based learning program and create a training plan for our graduates are eligible to receive reimbursement for up to 80 percent of the employee’s first 280 hours.

Our six-week intensive program provides a combination of soft skills and technical training in industry-standard software for low-income, unemployed, and underemployed New Yorkers. After completing the program, graduates receive career guidance and job connection support. Program alumni have launched post-production careers in film, television, and commercials.

How soon can this service connect me to talent?

Our program typically graduates three cohorts throughout the year during:

  • Spring
  • Summer
  • Fall


What skills and credentials will talent have?

Participants learn the basics of industry-standard post-production software, including:

  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Audition
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Avid Media Composer
  • Avid Pro Tools
  • DaVinci Resolve
  • Nuke

Participants also learn post-production concepts and the skills necessary to succeed as a freelancer in New York City.
