About the Gowanus Neighborhood Plan Working Groups

The Working Groups met during the winter and spring of 2017 to discuss topics including:

  • Arts and culture
  • Housing
  • Industry and economic development
  • Public realm (streets, buildings, parks and other shared open spaces)
  • Sustainability and resiliency

The Working Groups included residents, elected officials, businesses and City agencies. They met more than 25 times over 80+ hours.

Each Working Group produced draft recommendations to help shape the PDF Document Gowanus Framework.

Working Group Summit

At the Working Group Summit on July 11, 2017, all Working Groups shared, discussed and prioritized their draft recommendations. The Department of City Planning (DCP) also shared a PDF Document progress update of the Working Groups and other outreach.
