Immigrant Outreach Unit

The mission of the Community Outreach Division's Immigrant Outreach Unit is to engage, inform and empower the immigrant communities who reside in New York City. The Immigrant Outreach Unit coordinates community relations efforts with all bureaus within the department along with other city agencies to address specific immigrant community concerns. The Immigrant Outreach Unit members provide presentations on department policies, programs, and services to new immigrant communities. Liaisons come from diverse backgrounds and are fluent in various languages in order to understand the culture of immigrant populations and help to improve communication with the various communities served by the New York City Police Department.
