On January 8, the election administrator tasked with overseeing the vote at Hylan Houses certified the tied results between the NYC Housing Preservation Trust (Trust) and the Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) program. As per the official Voting Procedures, due to the tie, a runoff vote is being conducted.
Beginning February 26, residents of Hylan Houses will have the opportunity to vote on the future of the development. Residents will have the ability to decide between the Trust or PACT program for building renovations. Under state law, NYCHA must follow the wishes of the residents and implement the option that receives the most votes.
