Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore unveils FDNY WTC Retired Responders Memorial with ceremony honoring members from Brooklyn

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the FDNY held a fourth plaque dedication honoring FDNY responders who were retired when they answered the call on September 11, 2001, and died from WTC-related illnesses. The names added to the new memorial at the Department's Headquarters were retirees who reported for duty from Brooklyn. Separate ceremonies were held on June 9 for Manhattan and Bronx responders, and earlier in the day on June 10 for Staten Island. A final ceremony is scheduled for June 11 for Queens.
