Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore unveils FDNY WTC Retired Responders Memorial with ceremony honoring members from Staten Island

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the FDNY held a third plaque dedication honoring FDNY responders who were retired when they answered the call on September 11, 2001, and died from WTC-related illnesses. The names added to the new memorial at the Department's Headquarters in Brooklyn were retirees who reported for duty from Staten Island. Separate ceremonies were held on June 9 for Manhattan and Bronx responders. Ceremonies for Brooklyn and Queens are scheduled for June 10 and 11.

"Dedicated to the memory of those who bravely answered the call as retired members of the Department preserving lives and property in the City of New York during the rescue and recovery effort at Manhattan Box 5-5-8087 World Trade Center."
