On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the FDNY held a second plaque dedication honoring retired FDNY responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001, and died from WTC-related illnesses. The names added to the new memorial at the Department's Headquarters in Brooklyn were retirees who reported for duty from the Bronx. A separate ceremony was also held on earlier in the day for Manhattan responders. Ceremonies for Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens are scheduled for June 10 and 11.
