FDNY holds commencement ceremony for Fire Cadets at the Department's Fire Academy

The FDNY welcomed a new class of Fire Cadets into the Department at a commencement ceremony Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Fire Academy on Randall's Island.

"I'm proud of you. I'm excited for you. This is the beginning of your public service career," FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker said. "I think you're going to be incredible family members in the FDNY. Congratulations to all of you."

Next, the cadets will attend the EMS Academy for 13 weeks. They will work as EMTs as they await their opportunity to head to the Fire Academy.
