In a newly released Public Service Announcement, the FDNY reminds New Yorkers that Christmas trees that are displayed in indoor common areas must be artificial and flame resistant.
These indoor areas include residential, hotel or office lobbies, restaurants, stores and other indoor common areas. Real Christmas trees are only permitted in private homes, apartments and houses of worship.

The Department's PSA program is made possible in part with support from the FDNY Foundation, the official nonprofit organization of the Department.
