FDNY announces plans to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11th

The FDNY announced plans on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The yearlong plan will honor the 343 FDNY members who made the Supreme Sacrifice and the more than 400 members who have since died from World Trade Center-related illnesses.

The announcement was made at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park, home of the Staten Island FerryHawks.

The FDNY's 25th Anniversary Commemoration Plan includes:

  • An official ceremony on Sept. 9, 2026, at the FerryHawks Stadium
  • A special FDNY 25th Anniversary September 11th Patch and the Ceremonial Mark Collection
  • The launch of a Department-produced film about FDNY Chaplain Father Mychal Judge
  • A commemorative podcast series hosted by Gary Sinise
  • The release of the 25th Anniversary Health Report
