Empire State Building Lights Tower to Commemorate EMS Week 2025

May 18, 2025

The Empire State Building, in partnership with the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY), will be illuminated in yellow, white, and blue with their signature heartbeat effect at sunset, today, Sunday, May 18 in celebration of National EMS Week 2025.

"FDNY EMTs, Paramedics, and Officers respond to more than 1.6 million medical emergencies each year with skill and professionalism," said FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker. "EMS is the backbone of our Department. Emergency medicine is not easy, and it is vital to public safety in New York City. No matter the conditions, our EMS members are there for the New Yorkers who need them. We are grateful for the work they do every day and lighting up the Empire State Building in their honor is a great opportunity to thank them for their service."

EMS Week is a national week-long celebration of the lifesaving efforts of EMS. In New York, the Week promotes public safety and recognizes the incredible efforts of more than 4,400 members of the FDNY's Emergency Medical Service. The theme of this year's FDNY EMS Week is "We Care. For Everyone."

This is the 17th consecutive year the Empire State Building has partnered with FDNY to celebrate National EMS Week. For more information on the Empire State Building and the Lighting Partners program, visit www.esbnyc.com
