New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore to Preside at Annual Medal Day Ceremony

New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore will preside at the FDNY’s annual Medal Day Ceremony on Wednesday, June 3rd at 11 a.m. at City Hall Plaza – Centre Street and Park Row. At the ceremony, medals will be presented to FDNY Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, Fire Marshals, Dispatchers, Fire Protection Inspectors, and Officers for their lifesaving work in 2025. Notable medal recipients include:

  • Lieutenant Patrick T. Donlon, will receive the Chief of Department Peter J. Ganci Jr. Medal and NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs Association Medal for his successful removal of a victim during a fully involved apartment fire in the Bronx. Lieutenant Donlon was informed that someone was trapped and without the protection of a charged hoseline, entered the burning apartment to rescue the victim.
  • Paramedic Naytasha M. Doyle and Probationary Firefighter Paul T. Saladis, III (for incident while Paramedic) will receive the Christopher J. Prescott Medal for their heroic actions at a Brooklyn fire in 2025.
  • The two Paramedics assisted with the evacuation of a burning building prior to Firefighters arrival and provided lifesaving treatment to victims on scene. • Two new medals and awards will be presented at this year’s ceremony – the Commissioner Robert S. Tucker Fire Dispatcher Medal and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Memorial Medal. The Tucker Medal will be presented an¬nually to a fire alarm dispatcher whose outstanding efforts contributed to a suc-cessful operation within the Bureau of Communications. The Triangle Shirtwaist Medal recognizes members of the FDNY Bureau of Fire Prevention for their outstanding dedication and commitment to protecting life and property by enforcing New York City’s fire code.
