Corrosive Materials Permit

Permit Description

  • A permit is required to store, handle or use corrosive materials in quantities exceeding those set forth in Fire Code Table 105.6(3) (PDF).

Cost of Permit

  • $50 if stored in portable containers

  • $50 per 1,000 gallons when stored in tanks

Permit Length

  • A FDNY inspector will visit the premise annually and perform an inspection prior to permit expiration

Application Requirements

  • Submission of Building Department approved documents
  • Certificate of Fitness:
    C-42 Storage and Handling of Corrosives and Oxidizers
    W-42
