DYCD Scholars

DYCD Scholars, the result of a partnership between the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and City University of New York (CUNY), invests in the higher education of staff in DYCD-funded youth-serving agencies.  This partnership promotes the academic and career advancement of the city’s youth work professionals, which contributes to the quality of services provided to youth in New York City.

DYCD Scholars supports the timely graduation from CUNY and provides a stipend, counseling, networking opportunities and more to selected applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Are currently enrolled at CUNY and employed by a DYCD - funded organization that provides youth services
  • Take at least 3 credits at a CUNY campus each semester as a full-time or part-time student
  • Meet the following credit requirements: (a) for an associate degree, must be within 30 credits of graduation; or (b) for a bachelor’s degree within 45 credits of graduation; or (c) for a master’s degree, must be within 15 credits of graduation
