FOIL Requests

The Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) allows members of the public to request records from New York State or local government agencies. FOIL only applies to documents and does not require answers to questions.

All Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests must clearly identify the documents the requestor is seeking. 

How to Submit a FOIL Request

Fill out the form on NYC OpenRecords. Select the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) from the agency dropdown menu.
