Training facilitators are behavioral health professionals with extensive field-based expertise in working with individuals facing mental health, substance use, and other challenges.

This training is designed for mobile outreach staff at all levels who provide crisis and community outreach to people in a mental health crisis or who are experiencing homelessness.
The training provides 9.58 designation under the Mental Hygiene Law for qualified mental health professionals, including social workers (LMSW/LCSW), psychologists (PhD/PsyD), registered professional nurses, and physicians operating on a mobile outreach team approved by the NYS Commissioner of Mental Health. As training capacity is limited, these professionals get priority.
Social workers who complete the full training will receive continuing education units.
The 14-hour training is virtual and must be taken over two consecutive days. It is offered once a month. Registration for each training closes one week in advance.

This training covers the involuntary removal of people in possible need of immediate hospitalization, under certification of a physician designated by the Director of Community Services as outlined in the Mental Hygiene Law 9.37.
The training reviews the law and the procedures involved in involuntary admission.

This training is for psychiatrists who work as part of a mobile crisis or other outreach team and wish to be able to authorize involuntary removals.
