Mental Health and Substance Use

State of Mental Health of New Yorkers Report

The Health Department released a landmark report on the state of mental health of New Yorkers. The report presents data from across age groups, spanning children and youth to adults, including formal diagnoses, measures of well-being, and environmental factors that may affect these outcomes, such as access to resources and use of mental health services. The report also provides a broad overview of the mental health of New Yorkers leading up to and following the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This special report on social media and mental health explores the many factors around social media use and its impact on mental health. The report includes the results of two new surveys aimed at exploring the social media habits and mental health status of caregivers and their children.
