How Can You Find Upcoming Exams?
The civil service exam schedule for the entire year is released annually every July, and is available in alphabetical order or in application period order. DCAS also releases a monthly exam schedule, which you can receive over email by subscribing to our NYC Jobs Newsletter.
In addition to the monthly exam schedule, our newsletter highlights open City job opportunities, internships, fellowships, and upcoming career related events.

Important Alerts:
- As of July 1, 2026, Notices of Examinations can now be translated into more than 190 languages with OASys at nyc.gov/examsforjobs.
- Beginning July 1, 2026, more New Yorkers can apply for DCAS civil service examinations at no cost. Under Local Law 57 of 2025, fee waiver eligibility is expanded to include first-time applicants and New York City high school students.
- If you are going to a DCAS Computer-based Testing and Application Center (CTAC) for eligible list or examination related inquiries, walk-ins are available during work hours.
- The CTACs are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., excluding City holidays.
- OASys is now compatible with internet browsers for tablets and other mobile devices to apply for, pay, and take certain exams online.
