Jonathan Darche was appointed Executive Director in May 2017 after serving as the Agency’s Chief Prosecutor and Acting Chief of Investigations. During his tenure, the CCRB’s jurisdiction expanded to include allegations that members of the NYPD made untruthful statements, as well as committed acts of sexual misconduct and racial profiling. The Agency also gained the power to initiate investigations. Also, after the repeal of Civil Rights Law 50(a), the Agency revolutionized how it shares information with the public, making more information available to the public and putting that information in media and words that are easy for people to understand.
Prior to joining the CCRB, Mr. Darche worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Queens County District Attorney's Office. Darche began his career in public service working as a staffer for New York's Senior Senator Chuck Schumer.
Mr. Darche is a graduate of Empire State College and received his law degree from the City University of New York School of Law. Mr. Darche lives in Astoria with his wife, Samantha, and their son.
