DOB Violations 2

A DOB Violation is a notice that a property is not in compliance with the Construction Codes, the Zoning Resolution or other applicable laws and rules and includes an order from DOB to correct the violating condition. DOB issues violations when property or construction does not comply with NYC Construction Codes, Zoning Resolution and other applicable laws and rules. 

Unpaid violations may result in additional inspections, penalties, liens. Open violations can also prevent an owner from selling or refinancing. Additionally, DOB may not issue Certificates of Occupancy or Letters of Completion when DOB violations remain active. To remove a DOB violation from a property record, the condition must be corrected, and proof of the correction must be provided to the issuing unit.
