DOB NOW: Safety, is the online platform for Licensees, Filing Representatives, Registered Architects, Professional Engineers and Owners to submit their compliance filings, Energy Buildings Emissions Adjustment Applications and Local Law (97/88) Filing Fee Payments, Loft Board Registration Renewal, Violations & Notices of Deficiency and Certificate of Correction Review Requests with the Department of Buildings.
Registering for a DOB NOW Account
You need an NYC.ID account to login to DOB NOW. If you need to create an NYC.ID account, visit nyc.gov/dobnowtips for resources and step-by-step instructions.
After registering for an NYC.ID account, you can use DOB NOW: Safety to:
- Submit compliance filings and report unsafe activity
- Submit a Certificate of Correction Review Requests
- View and search for violations & notices of deficiency
- Make payments or request waivers
- Challenge or Dispute violations
- View the status of a filing
- Receive emails at milestones throughout the filing process

Search for DOB NOW: Safety Filings & Violations
Filings in DOB NOW: Safety will not appear in BIS. You can access this information through the DOB NOW Public Portal or through the City’s Open Data Portal. For a complete list of the violations on a property, also search the Buildings Information System (BIS). OATH/ECB violations and some DOB violations are only in BIS and are not found in DOB NOW.
