Queens Hospital Center offers comprehensive services and treatment for sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, child neglect, and elder abuse. Social workers are onsite to provide services Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Social Work Director and Associate Director are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for consultation.
Queens Hospital Center's Sexual Assault - Domestic Violence Program provides victims crisis intervention, short-term counseling, referrals to Law Enforcement and long-term counseling, as well as medical services, including sexually transmitted disease (STD) treatment, H.I.V. counseling and testing, H.I.V. prophylaxis and collection of forensic evidence. Medical providers in the Emergency Room are certified as sexual assault forensic examiners (SAFE).
Our program also provides survivors with advocate services during off-hours when the Social Work Department is not on duty.
