The Language Assistance Program:
Every department in this Hospital is deeply committed to providing care in the language that our patients are most comfortable speaking. As a result, we have many strategies to support the language needs of our patients.

Medical Interpreters: Our Department of Volunteer Services provides language interpretation services during the day. We have three full-time certified medical interpreters on staff.

Language Line: This interpretation service may be accessed from any telephone in Harlem Hospital Center and provides interpretation for over 150 languages.

Multi-Lingual Printed Materials: Signs and printed materials are presented in English and Spanish throughout the facility. Many of the forms used by our patients are translated into over twelve languages. For more information call (212) 939-1038.
