The DOE has Special Populations Liaisons working with the enrollment offices, who are responsible for assisting with specific groups of students, including students in foster care and students returning from detention by the NYC Department of Juvenile Justice. The Special Populations Liaisons work with both general education and special education students, and should be contacted if difficulties are encountered enrolling a student in one of these groups.
