Request for Listings: Expanded Success Initiative Vendors
The Young Men's Initiative and the Department of Education are seeking organizations to be listed as approved vendors for the Expanded Success Initiative (ESI). Approved vendors are eligible to work with the 40 ESI schools in enacting their design plans. Please note that currently approved organizations and previously denied organizations are eligible to apply, in addition to organizations that have not previously submitted an application.

The Young Men’s Initiative and CEO, in partnership with the Human Resources Administration, are seeking qualified service providers to deliver NYC Recovers. This short-term subsidized employment program will reimburse community-based organizations either for wages paid to Hurricane Sandy-affected residents for general employment opportunities, or to unemployed New Yorkers working in direct support of the recovery efforts in affected neighborhoods. CEO is accepting proposals in a rolling basis, pending funding availability.

The Young Men's Initiative is hosting two remaining leadership and training symposia to be held on November 14 and November 16, 2012 for human service providers contracted with the City. The focus of the training will be on a recent executive order requiring vendors to not inquire about the criminal records of qualified jobseekers at their organizations before or during the first job interview. In addition, leadership discussion will be held to help determine the impact of this order and its importance. If you are a human service contractor with the City of New York, please join us. Thank you for your service to the citizens of New York City.

Application Open: Work Progress Program
CEO and the NYC Human Resources Administration are seeking service providers to participate in a subsidized wage program for low-income young adults. The Work Progress Program offers reimbursements for wages paid to young adults placed in short-term jobs. The program is funded by the Young Men’s Initiative and is accepting applications on a rolling basis.

AIM Providers Announced
The Department of Probation and the Center for Economic Opportunity have announced the three organizations that will be providing the AIM (Advocate Intervene Mentor) Program. AIM is an intensive mentoring and advocacy program for young people on probation. The three providers are: Community Mediation Services (Queens), Good Shepherd Services (Brooklyn), Youth Advocate Programs (Bronx). AIM is funded by the Young Men’s Initiative.
