Emergency/Trauma

Doctors treat a patient in Bellevue Hospital's Emergency Department.

Bellevue is an unsurpassed leader in the field of emergency medicine. We created the first ambulance service in America in 1869 and opened the first ambulance pavilion in 1889.

Today, we have a world-wide reputation for excellence in emergency medicine, public health, medical toxicology and global health.

Jointly with the NYU School of Medicine, we are committed to sustaining this excellence by integrating research, teaching and patient care into public service.
