Volunteering

Volunteer at Bellevue
Volunteers are active in all areas of the hospital. They provide emotional support and comfort to our patients and assist staff in providing essential services.

We welcome volunteers from all age groups, backgrounds and careers and try to match their interests and skills with our diverse needs so that the volunteer experience is both meaningful and personally satisfying.

We place volunteers in many areas:

  • Nursing and medical areas
  • Programs for children
  • Non-patient care areas
  • Communication/interpreter services
  • Special assignments that require completion of a training program, such as chaplaincy, patient advocacy, patient visiting, rape crisis, or Reach Out and Read programs.

Candidates must commit to serving at least six hours a week for a minimum of three months. Special assignments may require a longer time commitment. To find out about volunteering opportunities at Bellevue, call our volunteer office at (212) 562-4858.
