Housing Navigation Services for New NYCHA Section 8 Voucher Holders

New NYCHA Section 8 voucher holders* who have 60 days or less before their voucher expires are eligible to receive assistance in their housing search through ONE of NYCHA’s Housing Search Programs: Housing Navigation Services OR the Real Estate Agent Referral Program.

*Note: New voucher holders are voucher holders who have not yet rented an apartment using their Section 8 voucher. These programs are not available for transfers or families being restored to the program.

Housing Navigation Services

NYCHA’s Housing Navigation Unit can assist you with locating an apartment to rent that is suitable for your needs. Clients enrolled in Housing Navigation Services benefit from the following.

• A direct point of contact to NYCHA’s Housing Navigation team for assistance through the entire leasing process.
• Assistance with locating apartments based on your needs, including scheduling apartment viewings.
• Expedited processing of the rental package and the lease-upprocess.
• Payment of a competitive broker fee (15% of annual rent) if the selected unit is represented by a broker.
