2022 NYC Publishing Industry Economic Impact Study

Executive Order 47 requires City agencies, along with the NYC Department of Education, NYC Health + Hospitals, and NYCHA, to spend a significant portion of their advertising budgets in on-line and print media that reaches communities, such as ethnic and other minority communities, specific neighborhoods and boroughs, and residents who read in languages other than English.

DREAMing Out Loud: Voices of Undocumented Students

DREAMing Out Loud is a tuition-free writing workshop for undocumented immigrants led by award-winning authors that is designed to help build a diverse talent pipeline for the publishing industry and empower DREAMers to use their voices to counter misinformation about immigrants. The workshop series was the recipient of a Mayor's Grant for Cultural Impact this year from the Department of Cultural Affairs and supported in part by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.

The "Made in NY" Talks Series presents a variety of free programs exploring multiple topics within the media and entertainment industry. Programs focus on film, television, theater and digital media and support the goals of career development, networking, training and recruitment.
