Divas Behind the Music Career Forum

175 students from 30 public high schools and colleges attended the Divas Behind the Music Summit, a career forum MOME organized which featured panel conversations with Chaka Pilgrim (President of Roc Nation Records), Jennifer Justice (President at Superfly), Elizabeth Matthews (CEO of ASCAP), Emily Lazar (Founder of The Lodge studio, sole female Grammy nominee for mastering engineering), Susan Rogers (Berklee Professor and Producer of Prince), Alexis Giles (Soundcloud), and Aziza Bowser (Legal Affairs, VH1). The panels discussed leadership and jobs in the music industry technical and management jobs in which women are underrepresented. The panel discussions were followed by a career fair with top employers in the music industry (ASCAP, Universal Music Group, Joe's Pub, BRICArts, NYU MusEDLab, Carnegie Hall, Superfly, Downtown Music Publishing, etc).
