Executive Litigation and Policy Group

The Executive Litigation and Policy Group manages high-salience litigation in state and federal court to protect New York City’s interests, conducts research to provide actionable guidance for the Law Department’s leadership team, and counsels on federal issues with significant revenue or programmatic implications for the City of New York. In so doing, the unit partners with other divisions at the Law Department and New York City’s agencies as well as external stakeholders. Its litigation matters span areas such as administrative, constitutional, and municipal law. The unit’s counseling work focuses on federal grants and emerging regulatory and enforcement areas of law, particularly matters that require coordination across multiple city entities and tracking multijurisdictional issues.
