National Lead Poisoning Prevention Awareness Week of Events: October 24 – 28, 2022
To commemorate National Lead Poisoning Prevention Awareness Week, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has collaborated with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and other agencies and community partners to schedule in-person and online events to educate you on New York City’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Act (also known as Local Law 1 of 2004), lead poisoning risks and prevention strategies, working safe around lead, safe construction work, lead and water, hazardous consumer products, and more.
