J-51 Exemption and Abatement
J-51 is a property tax exemption and abatement for renovating a residential apartment building. The benefit varies depending on the building's location and the type of improvements.

You can search for apartment buildings with J-51 benefits in all five boroughs, by tax year. Rental buildings receiving the benefits are listed first. The information is available in two file formats:
- PDF, using Adobe Reader, for viewing only
- XLS Microsoft Excel, for sorting and creating customized reports
