The FDNY held a graduation ceremony for its latest class of paramedics on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, at St. John's University in Queens. The newly promoted members will be assigned to units throughout New York City.
The FDNY announced plans on Dec. 9, 2025, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11th attacks. The yearlong plan will honor the 343 FDNY members who made the Supreme Sacrifice and the more than 400 members who have since died from World Trade Center-related illnesses.
The FDNY is sounding the alarm following a series of fatal fires in November. All eight claimed the lives of elderly New Yorkers. The Department released a new PSA on Nov. 26, urging all New Yorkers to take immediate steps to protect themselves and their loved ones.
