FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore addressed the FDNY Foundation on Feb. 5, delivering the 2026 State of the FDNY and outlining the challenges and priorities that will shape the Department's future.

"We have to keep up with this growing city around us," Commissioner Bonsignore said.

Cold weather brings an increased risk of fires and other emergencies. The FDNY reminds New Yorkers to use space heaters safely and to always keep fire hydrants clear of snow and ice.
