The following commemorative events are open to the public and provide opportunities to honor the memory of those lost on September 11, 2001, including the 343 members of the FDNY who made the ultimate sacrifice. Visitors are welcome to attend these events respectfully as New York City pauses to remember and reflect.
Please note: The FDNY’s official 25th anniversary ceremony at FerryHawks Stadium on Staten Island is a private event for the families of those lost on September 11, 2001, and in the years since. The commemorative events listed below are open to members of the public who wish to pay their respects.
September 6, 2026
Father Mychal Judge Memorial, West 31st Street and Seventh Avenue, Manhattan
A memorial gathering honoring Father Mychal Judge, FDNY Chaplain, who was killed while ministering to firefighters at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
September 10, 2026 – 6 PM
Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance at Maimonides Park, Coney Island
A candlelight vigil honoring Brooklyn residents killed on September 11, 2001. The evening gathering provides an opportunity for reflection and remembrance.
September 10, 2026 – 10 AM – 2 PM
Participating FDNY firehouses and EMS Stations throughout New York City
Members of the public are invited to visit local FDNY firehouses and EMS Stations to meet firefighters, EMT, and Paramedics and learn more about the Department’s work and history.

Beginning in the morning National September 11 Memorial at Memorial Plaza, World Trade Center
The annual reading of the names honors the victims who lost their lives in the attacks of September 11, 2001 and the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing

FDNY Firefighters Memorial, Riverside Drive and West 100th Street
A memorial ceremony honoring the 343 members of the FDNY who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Postcards Memorial, Staten Island
A remembrance ceremony honoring Staten Island residents who lost their lives in the attacks.

FDNY Ten House, 124 Liberty Street, Manhattan
Members of the public may visit throughout the day to pay their respects at the firehouse located across from the World Trade Center site.
September 11, 2026 – Ceremony - 6:30 PM
Game Time - 7:05 PM Yankee Stadium, Bronx
This matchup will take place at Yankee Stadium and is part of a three-game series that runs from September 11 to September 13, 2026. The September 11 game includes special tributes honoring first responders and those lost in the attacks.

Wreath Laying FDNY Fire Museum, 278 Spring Street, Manhattan
Visitors are welcome to learn about the history of the FDNY and the Department’s response to September 11 through exhibits and artifacts.
