Fair Fares NYC (FFNYC) is a City program that helps New Yorkers with low incomes reduce their transportation costs. By using the FFNYC discount, New York City residents get a 50% discount on subway and eligible bus fares (including the Staten Island Railway, Roosevelt Island Tram, and Hudson Rail Link). Fair Fares also gives 50% off Access-A-Ride (AAR) paratransit trips. Once you take 12 paid trips in a 7-day period using the same Fair Fares NYC OMNY Card (FFOC), the rest of your rides of the same week will automatically be free. AAR customers do not use an FFOC. This discount is given automatically when the FFNYC and AAR accounts are linked.

All New York City residents can apply for FFNYC. Subway and eligible bus discounts are available to New Yorkers who do not already have (and are not eligible for) discounted fares from the MTA or the City. If you are an AAR customer, you may apply for the FFNYC discount to use only on AAR. If you are in the MTA Reduced-Fare program, you are not eligible for the FFNYC discount on subways and buses.
