Youth Power!: This New York State network provides information on credentialing, training opportunities, events, workforce development and more resources for youth peer advocates.
Peers for Progress: This global network of peer support organizations works to connect peer organizations to each other with the goal of sharing best practices, learning from each other’s innovation and working collaboratively to advocate for the value of peer support.
Peer Network of New York: This group meets monthly to support the work of peers at harm reduction agencies across NYC through education and training, citywide networking and advocacy for harm reduction principles. To learn more, including how to attend a meeting, email peernetworks@health.nyc.gov.
NY Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services: This is a statewide coalition of people who use or provide recovery-oriented, community-based mental health services. Learn more about the work they do, their annual conference and how to become a member.
Friends of Recovery — New York: This group offers trainings to peer professionals, treatment providers, prevention specialists and anyone else interested in addiction and recovery.
Families Together of New York State Annual Conference: This conference will discuss the many challenges and opportunities facing children, youth and families as health and behavioral health services continue to move toward an integrated system of care.
Peer Corps: The Peer Corps Initiative was created in response to the rising number of overdose deaths. The Health Department, in partnership with other City agencies and NYC non-profit organizations, recruits peers to bring life-saving services to marginalized populations throughout NYC.
