DCAS Police protect tenants and visitors at properties owned, leased, and operated by DCAS. The special officers maintain a uniformed law enforcement presence to screen, detect, and apprehend individuals who violate general criminal laws of New York City and New York State.







 DCAS Police have significant safety responsibilities, including:

  • Conducting preliminary investigations of accidents, building rule violations, criminal complaints, security breaches, and thefts of both City and personal property.
  • Developing and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
  • Assisting in operational and emergency planning across DCAS and with other emergency response agencies during emergency conditions.
  • Manageing and administering the contract guard agreement to ensure necessary security guard staffing.
  • Provides active shooter training for DCAS personnel and other City agencies.
