Are you interested in developing community leadership skills and supporting the Civic Engagement Commission?

Learn about volunteering with the Civic Engagement Commission here and help make civic participation more inclusive and accessible across New York City. The Civic Engagement Commission is seeking dedicated volunteers to empower New York City's diverse neighborhoods through our premier civic programs. You can apply to the Community Engagement Ambassador Academy (CEAA) to receive a free, 7-week virtual leadership and grassroots organizing training held in the fall and spring. Other opportunities include serving as a PB Vote Ambassador for The People's Money from May through June, helping NYC residents ages 11 and up decide how to spend the city's budget. We also need volunteers, ideally who speak more than one language, for our Voter Language Assistance Program to conduct in-person canvassing and support voters speaking 14 languages. Languages covered during NYC election periods include Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Haitian Creole,  French, Arabic, Bengali, Urdu, Russian, Yiddish, Polish, Italian, Greek, and Albanian. By participating in any of these programs, you will play a vital role in building an inclusive and accessible democracy across our city.
