New York City Board of Correction Notice of Changes to the Board

New York, NY – Effective July 8, 2025, Dr. Robert Cohen resigned from the New York City Board of Correction (“Board”) after 16 years of service and dedication to the wellbeing of those living and working on Rikers Island. Current and former Board members and staff, elected officials, and agency partners extend their gratitude and well wishes to Dr. Cohen in the below statement.

On April 11, 2025, the New York City Council appointed Lauren Stossel as a member of the New York Board of Correction to serve the remainder of an unexpired six-year term that ends on February 1, 2029.
