Committees represent the Board's priorities and are formed to examine critical issues occurring within City jails under the jurisdiction of the NYC Department of Correction.

Committee on Death, Near Death, and Serious Injuries

This committee is charged with examining the circumstances surrounding deaths, near deaths, and serious injuries in City jails under the jurisdiction of the NYC Department of Correction.

Committee to review the Board’s Minimum Standards

This committee is charged with evaluating the Minimum Standards and proposing amendments that ensure the Minimum Standards reflect best medical and mental health practices and accurately represent the current state of operations in correctional facilities.
