Land Inventory Fast Track

On his first day in office, Mayor Mamdani signed three executive orders pertaining to housing, including Executive Order 4, which created the Land Inventory Fast Track (LIFT) Task Force. LIFT is a multi-agency effort to identify City-controlled land that is suitable for housing.

Activating City land for housing is a critical component of Block by Block, Mayor Mamdani's comprehensive, all-of-the-above housing plan that will tackle our affordability crisis.

The City is already working to activate more than 100 City-owned sites with housing, which will result in more than 50,000 new homes. And our work is just getting started.
