Designation as a Center of Excellence means we pass a rigorous review in which we must live up to a better level of care. It reflects the fact that our complication rate is exceptionally low, that our surgical risks are low, that we offer on-site technical know-how and training in the care of heavy patients – down to providing large beds, supportive toilets, and special wheelchairs – and that we offer a rare degree of patient support, before and long after surgery.
