HHC welcomes back its annual farmers markets to several public hospital campuses this summer. Regionally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables will be easily available on a weekly basis until November. The markets’ accessibility on or near hospital grounds offers healthy dietary options for patients, employees and the local surrounding community.
HHC hospitals aim to help communities eat well to prevent obesity and other illnesses such as diabetes and high blood pressure that can occur from an unhealthy lifestyle. The public hospitals are part of a city-wide anti-obesity task force formed to help New Yorkers lose weight and stay healthy. HHC’s promotion of fresh and sustainable produce will help introduce the concept of healthier food options to more New Yorkers and provide fruits and vegetables at a reasonable price in neighborhoods where these resources are not always available.

Jacobi Medical Center: Market located at 1400 Pelham Parkway, on the new Jacobi Pedestrian Mall directly in front of the hospital. Open now through Thanksgiving. Tuesdays 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
North Central Bronx Hospital: Market located at the corner of Mosholu Parkway N. and Jerome Avenue. Mid- July through Thanksgiving. Wednesdays 8a.m.- 6 p.m.
Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center: Market located on 149th Street, adjacent to the hospital, between Morris and Park Avenue. Open now to Nov. 20. Tuesdays and Fridays 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Coney Island Hospital: Market located at 2100 Ocean Parkway. Open now to Nov. 16. Fridays 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Queens Hospital Center: Market located at 164th street and 82nd road, sidewalk pavilion under the east bridge. All year round. Thursdays 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Elmhurst Hospital Center: Market located at 41st Avenue between 80th and 81st streets. July 10- Nov. 20. Tuesdays 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
