Visiting Hours

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Adult
Visiting time is from the quarter of the hour to the top of the hour (e.g. 8:45 am to 9:00 am.)
Children are not permitted to visit.

Psychiatric
Visiting hours are from 1:30 to 2:30 pm and 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
Children are not permitted to visit.

MEDICINE/SURGERY UNITS

Visiting is permitted between 11 am and 8 pm on all units.
Four visitors are allowed at the bedside.
There is no visitation restriction for children over three years of age accompanied by an adult on units except for patients on isolation.

INTENSIVE CARE

Adult
Visitors can use the day rooms near the Intensive Care Units between the hours of 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
No more than two bedside visitors at one time.
Patient visits are restricted to immediate family only at the first 15 minutes at the top of each hour
Children are not permitted to visit
Nursing discretion based on extenuating circumstances could alter these guidelines.

Neonatal ICU (NICU)
Parents (24 hours) and Grandparents (11 am to 7 pm) may visit in the NICU.
Siblings and other family members' visitation can be arranged with the Charge Nurse.
Discharged breast feeding mothers may return for infant feeding 24 hours per day to the NICU

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
The length of the parents' visits and overnight stay outside the unit will be left to the discretion of the nurse-in-charge of the unit.Siblings older than three years will be allowed to visit.

PEDIATRIC UNITS

Parents may visit at any time. Only one parent can stay with the child overnight.
Visiting hours are from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
Visiting is restricted to the parents only if a child is on isolation precautionFour visitors are allowed at the bedside.

LABOR & DELIVERY, NURSERIES AND POST PARTUM UNITS

Partner/coach may stay in the father's waiting room during early labor, may assist the patient in ambulation, can accompany and coach during labor.Partner/coach may visit the mother in the Recovery Room for short visits. Visiting is restricted during emergent situations in the Recovery Room.Adult visiting hours are from 11 AM to 8 PM.All visitors are to be screened for upper respiratory infections and lesions.Siblings over three accompanied by an adult may visit during regular visiting hours.Discharged breast feeding mothers may return for infant feeding 24 hours per day to theNewborn Nursery

PSYCHIATRIC UNITS

Adult and Forensic Services
Visiting hours are from 1 - 2:30 pm and 5:30 to 8 pm

Child and Adolescent Services
Visiting hours are Monday-Friday: 3:30-4:30 for the B9 unit, 3:45-4:45 pm for the A9 unit and 5:30-7 pm for both units. Weekends and School Holidays: 1:30-2:30 pm and 5:30-7 pm within the Hospital. Alternative times may be arranged with the inpatient treatment team. No visitors will be allowed to enter elevators or nursing units without a color-coded pass. The Information Desk distributes visitor's passes.

HOSPICE

Hospice visiting is unlimited to all ages.

HEMODIALYSIS

Patients are issued passes for unit by the Nursing staff.
